I was born and raised in the West. Living in the Rocky Mountains and being the son of an art teacher has greatly influenced my love of the outdoors and of art.
“As a painter I am looking for the essence of what moves me to paint. I am attempting to reveal the beauty I perceive in our surroundings, and give them the worth they deserve in the eyes of the viewer.”
I feel that by painting “en Plein-air” (on location) I can experience both my love of the outdoors and of art. I participate in Plein-air events across the west.
I received my BFA at Pacific Northwest College of Art in Portland, Oregon with an emphasis in painting. I am currently pursuing my MFA at the University of Idaho. I reside with my wife and three children in Moscow, Idaho.
“We do an injustice to another who does not perceive the worth or the beauty of what moves or delights us.”
-Immanuel Kant
